PROFILE

CHARLIE C. KUO, LL.B., B.C.L., B.COMM.

Charlie has been practising securities law for 19 years. His transactional experience includes domestic and cross-border public and private corporate finance transactions representing issuers and investors as well as corporate restructuring and M&A transactions.

Acting independently or in tandem with major law firms, Charlie generally represents and advises venture issuers, Capital Pool Companies, private equity funds and business consulting firms on TSX/TSX-V listing projects, corporate finance transactions and private equity investment transactions. He also advises public issuers on general corporate and securities law matters including corporate governance, continuous disclosure obligations and other regulatory compliance issues.

Charlie was formerly a member of the securities law group of a major Bay Street law firm. Fluent in Chinese mandarin and with a strong network in the Chinese business community, he was a key member of the firm’s international initiative with a focus on the China practice. 

In 2005, Charlie was seconded to the Capital Market Branch of the Ontario Securities Commission.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Charlie worked as a Coordinator of International Relations in Miyazaki Prefecture of Japan.
